Nuclear Society of Slovenia was founded in 1991.

The Nuclear Society of Slovenia (NSS) is a volunteer association of scientists, professionals and people of other disciplines working or interested in the field of peaceful use of nuclear science and technology. Activities of the Society are based on principles of knowledge dissemination, peaceful use of nuclear technology and environmental protection.

Main scope and goals of the Society

  • Managing objective public information regarding professional issues and the promotion of the peaceful use of nuclear science and technology.

  • Maintenance of high calibre professional and expert activities, promotion of information exchange and the transfer of knowledge from technology to national industry.

  • Co-operation for setting standards and surveys of Slovenian legislation in the field of nuclear science and technology.
    Support for the safe operation of nuclear facilities in the Republic of Slovenia and active participation in solving specific technical problems.

  • Support for publishing literature and systematic work toward creating Slovenian terminology in the field of nuclear science and technology.

  • Co-operation with similar associations and expert organisations, organising expert meetings and consultancies, and encouraging expert training, research grants and the exchange of professionals at home and abroad.
